A Restore is a new way of recycling and raising funds for operational expenses for Habitat for Humanity Alpena Area (HFHAA).

It provides people with an opportunity to purchase quality, new or gently used donated home improvement items.

Donations of closeout and surplus items from area home-supply stores and retailers, leftovers from remodeling projects or home demolition and general donations from residents of Alpena and surrounding counties are accepted and then sold to the public at a fraction of their value.

The ReStore is unique within Alpena County, but it has been proven successful in many other areas of Michigan and throughout the country!

What type of items are found at the HFHAA ReStore?

All donations are screened for suitability by our ReStore Manager and include materials such as: tools, paint, wallpaper, accessories such as drawer pulls/knobs, windows, doors, fixtures and much, much more.

Who benefits from a ReStore?

Everyone benefits from the HFHAA ReStore.

The ReStore is a local place to shop for recycled building materials and home improvement supplies.

The ReStore assists in providing an affordable opportunity to the home improvement process that may not otherwise be possible.

The ReStore provides funding for operational expenses for Alpena Area Habitat for Humanity in order to continue working towards its mission of eliminating poverty housing.

The ReStore conserves resources by keeping otherwise unwanted items out of landfills.

The ReStore creates an additional opportunity for non-construction volunteers to get involved with the HFHAA mission.

Directions to the ReStore

The ReStore is located in what is known as the "Mulvena" building at the corner of 5th and Chisholm. St. Bernard's church is on the other corner.

How can I donate?

Drop-offs are welcome during regular business hours or pickups can be scheduled by calling the ReStore at (989) 354-5555.

Please do not leave items outside our store or during non business hours.

Items must be in good condition and proper working order.

Items should be cleaned prior to pick up. Wood must be free of nails, screws, etc.
